FACT Records was a small independent label that operated in Jerusalem between 1999–2003. During this time, FACT released many albums and compiled three very effective compilations to showcase its creative wealth. The three compilations that FACT Records managed to release during its short life span have become available online for the first time more than 20 years after their original release.*
For some of us, FACT was a direct continuation of The Electronic Front project (1997–1999). In both projects I had the great pleasure to do things with Yoram Eliakim (who also ran FACT) and Binya Reches (my partner in TaaPet). TaaPet released three(!) full-length albums on FACT and we were heavily involved in the production of the three FACT compilations:**

Fact by Fact Fact by Fact was released in 2000 and included the only ever true studio recording by TaaPet, Further. The eclectic style of this compilation reflects Yoram’s fantastically broad taste for great music. Most of the electronic music on that compilation is reflective of the network previously created by our Electronic Front project. |

Fact by Fact II and Electronic Facts Before its demise, FACT Records released two compilations at the same time: the second super-eclectic Fact by Fact, that was carefully crafted by Yoram, and another compilation that was more narrowly defined (although still eclectic A.F.), Electronic Facts, which Yoram and I compiled together. There are tracks from Finkelstein’s solo album in both compilations, as well as solo tracks by Binya, who also designed both covers. Together, we (Binya and I) also mastered both of these gems. |
* Many thanks to the anonymous fan who contributed a lot of energy into tracking down all the artists and obtaining all the permissions in order to make this happen.
** There’s loads of great timeless music from a scarily talented diverse group of people on these compilations. It’s really great to have this accessible after so many years… go check it out!
